Tried to load drivers from elo website -> failed to load (linux drivers are very version specific). I could add an xinput set-prop on startup. My min/max values are roughly 5000, 50000. Maybe I could convert the min/max x/y values outputted from xinput_calibrator to a transformation matrix. If I run "xinput list-props 8" (8 is the id of the elo touchscreen device) I can see some matrix transformations. I've tried to run with "-output-type xinput" but get error "XorgPrint Calibration does not support the supplied -output-type". Actually even after running the program the calibration doesn't take effect. The program runs and generates a conf file which I copy into /etc and /usr as it says. that would rule out a bad windows/ELO file in your install.
but i would first test it on another computer if you have one available before replacing it. if its new, i would contact where you got it from. worst case is the controller is gone sideways on you.
